Qaplo (Jakarta) – The availability of diesel fuel (BBM) at Shell gas stations has finally begun to return to normal after experiencing shortages since early 2026. Shell Indonesia announced that Shell V-Power Diesel is now gradually being reintroduced at several stations, with prices reaching Rp30,890 per liter. The information was shared by Shell Indonesia through its official Instagram account, @shell_indonesia. In the post, the company expressed appreciation to customers for their patience during the diesel fuel shortage period. “Thank you for your loyalty and patience. Shell V-Power Diesel is gradually becoming available again at Shell stations,” wrote Shell Indonesia management. Although supply is returning, the price of Shell V-Power Diesel has increased significantly compared to previous months. On March 1, 2026, Shell diesel was still priced at Rp14,620 per liter. It has now more than doubled to Rp30,890 per liter. This sharp increase in fuel prices is linked to rising global crude oil prices driven by escalating geopolitical tensions between the United States, Israel, and Iran, which have directly impacted the global energy market. Through its official website, Shell Indonesia stated that Shell V-Power Diesel is currently available in several regions, including Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi, and Bandung. Meanwhile, other Shell fuel products such as Shell Super, Shell V-Power, and Shell V-Power Nitro+ are still unavailable since early 2026. Fuel price increases have also occurred at Pertamina gas stations. PT Pertamina (Persero) has officially adjusted prices for several non-subsidized fuel types effective May 4, 2026. According to information from Pertamina’s official website, the price of Pertamax Turbo (RON 98) in the Greater Jakarta area has increased to Rp19,900 per liter from Rp19,400 per liter in April 2026. In addition, Pertamina diesel products have also seen significant increases. Dexlite (CN 51) is now priced at Rp26,000 per liter, up from Rp23,600 per liter. Meanwhile, Pertamina Dex (CN 53) has risen to Rp27,900 per liter from Rp23,900 per liter. On the other hand, Pertamina has maintained the price of Pertamax (RON 92) at Rp12,300 per liter. Pertamax Green (RON 95) also remains at Rp12,900 per liter since March 2026, before tensions between the US, Israel, and Iran escalated. For subsidized and assignment fuels, the government and Pertamina have not made any price changes. Pertalite remains at Rp10,000 per liter, while Biosolar is still priced at Rp6,800 per liter.
