Qaplo (Jakarta) – The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has forecast that most parts of Indonesia will experience rainfall on Monday. Residents in several regions are also advised to remain vigilant for the possibility of heavy to very heavy rain. BMKG forecaster Rizky, speaking in an official weather update on BMKG’s YouTube channel monitored from Jakarta, explained that weather conditions across Sumatra will generally be dominated by light rain and thick cloud cover. Banda Aceh is expected to remain mostly cloudy, while Medan, Pekanbaru, Tanjung Pinang, Padang, Pangkal Pinang, and Bengkulu are forecast to receive light rain. BMKG also warned of possible thunderstorms in Jambi, Palembang, and Bandar Lampung, prompting local residents to take precautionary measures. On the island of Java, Surabaya and Yogyakarta are expected to see thick cloud cover, while Jakarta, Serang, Bandung, and Semarang are likely to experience light rain. Across Kalimantan, weather conditions in major cities are forecast to be relatively uniform, with light rain expected in Pontianak, Samarinda, Tanjung Selor, Palangka Raya, and Banjarmasin. In Bali and Nusa Tenggara, Mataram is expected to experience haze, Kupang will be mostly cloudy, and Denpasar may see light rain. In Sulawesi, Gorontalo is forecast to be under thick cloud cover, while light rain is expected in Palu and Makassar. Moderate rainfall is possible in Mamuju and Kendari. For the Maluku and North Maluku regions, Ambon and Ternate are expected to receive light rain. Meanwhile, in Papua, light rain is forecast in several areas, including Sorong, Manokwari, Nabire, Wamena, Jayapura, and Merauke. In addition to the daily forecast, BMKG urged the public to stay alert for the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in Bangka Belitung Islands, West Java, Central Java, West Kalimantan, North Maluku, and Maluku.
